ABOUT KENTUCKY CHILD NOW!

Founded by Dr. Thomas Young, a nationally renowned pediatrician, Kentucky Child Now began as a vision to create a unified voice among public, private and nonprofit groups on behalf of Kentucky's children. Since its inception, Kentucky Child Now has emerged as a nationally recognized resource in youth wellness and development providing help through training, hope through empowerment, and opportunities for success.

In order to empower youth to become successful adults, Kentucky Child Now promotes the healthy development of Kentucky's children and youth through advocacy, consulting, training, and coordination. Kentucky Child Now has partnered with private and public agencies including: the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, the Kentucky Department of Education, the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and the Forum for Youth Investment to address the issues that affect youth today. Key initiatives include:

  • Internet safety,
  • bullying prevention,
  • suicide prevention,
  • positive youth development,
  • quality after-school programs,
  • and school-based health care.
