The eTraining Institute provides busy professionals with the tools to pursue their lifelong learning objectives. We combine technological innovation with quality content to give professionals the best learning experience available online.

Our self-paced courses are designed for people who like to learn on their own. Like Kentucky Child Now's Training Institute the courses are designed to provide you with foundation skills and to EQUIP youth serving professionals, schools, communities, organizations, healthcare professionals, and youth.

How it Works

• Allen Brenzel, M.D.
• Dr. Brenzel is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky, Division Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is currently practicing as a Pediatrician, Pediatric Psychiatrist, and Adult Psychiatrist at the University of Kentucky's Comprehensive Assessment and Training Service (CATS) clinic, which he helped, start in 1999. Dr. Brenzel also does consultant work for the Kentucky Department of Community Based Services by providing medical knowledge to worker interacting with youth with emotional and behavioral disorders. Dr. Brenzel along with the CATS clinic works with DCBS to make appropriate placements for children, many of whom suffer from Reactive Attachment Disorder. Dr. Brenzel is passionate about ensuring that placement decisions allow children to grow in the least restrictive, most nurturing environment. His interest include: Psychopharmacology; Child Abuse; Chronic Illness in Children; ADHD; Systems of Care for Children and Adolescents

• Stephanie Eken, M.D.
• Stephanie C. Eken is Board Certified in Pediatrics and has completed her Post-Graduate Training at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center and is presently in private practice in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Eken's specialty areas include Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry. Since 1996, Dr. Eken has received numerous awards and honors in the medical field related to children and adolescents. Her research interest include substance abuse in pregnancy and effects to the fetus, methadone maintenance in pregnancy, and the effects of victimization on treatment planning for pregnant women with substance use disorders. Her clinical interest include school-based health centers, telepsychiatry and childhood obesity.

• Marlene Huff, LCSW, Ph.D.
• Marlene B. Huff is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine, at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Huff is a licensed clinical social worker and holds a doctorate in medical sociology. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in working with adolescents and their families. Dr. Huff's research and clinical interest lie in working with individuals who have mood disorders. Dr. Huff has served as a social work educator for the past 9 years teaching social welfare policy, human behavior in the social environment, and social work practice.

• Kimberly McClanahan, Ph.D.
• Kimberly McClanahan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine, at the University of Kentucky. A licensed clinical psychologist and health service provider, she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with the full spectrum of emotional issues and mental disorders for over 20 years in a variety of settings. She has specialty credentials in the areas of substance abuse and addictions, sexual offenses, and group psychotherapy. Her primary area of research has focused on high-risk youth and prevention/intervention programs in school settings.

• Sheila Woods, M.D.
• Sheila Woods is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Woods acquired her medical degree at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine and has been involved in medical training and curriculum development for numerous years. Since 1982, Dr. Woods received numerous awards and honors in the medical field related to women's maternal and children health. Her research interest includes adolescent mothers, and adolescent health, and mental health issues related to the children and their families. Dr. Woods present professional positions besides the professorship at the University of Kentucky is the Preceptor at the Pediatric and Triple Board Residents' Continuity Clinics along with practicing pediatrics at the Family Care Center Clinic in Lexington, KY.
