Site of Promise

What is a Site of Promise?

A Site of Promise is a community-based organization that is dedicated to fulfilling the Five Promises* for the children and youth that they serve. Sites of Promise include, but are not limited to youth serving organizations, businesses, faith based organizations and schools.

Sites of Promise share the common vision that...
  • Children are healthy and have access to quality, comprehensive health care
  • Young people are valued and have access to the support, resources and opportunities they need to be fully prepared for adulthood

Sites of Promise believe that...

  • Every child and youth needs the Five Promises to succeed in life
  • Young people are resources and leaders-part of the solution, not the problem
  • Fulfilling the Five Promises for every child and youth requires every sector of the community working together—family, school, faith-based, business, nonprofit and government

Sites of Promise are committed to...

  • Collaboration    Being connected to a local Community of Promise and/or other Sites of Promise in their community to more effectively serve the needs of young people by maximizing resources and eliminating duplication
  • Accountability    Fulfilling the Five Promises for the children and youth that they serve
  • Youth Involvement    Engaging young people as resources and leaders within their organization

Why become a Site of Promise?

  • Improved services and outcomes for Kentucky's youth
  • Unified, powerful voice/vision for children and youth
  • Affiliation with a credible national and statewide organization/initiative
  • Statewide networking and recognition opportunities
  • Access to youth development resources
